The Canadian County Sheriff's Office arrested a man they say sexually assaulted a young teen at a sleepover in May.
According to reports, a woman contacted the sheriff's office earlier this month after her daughter told her that she had been sexually assaulted at a sleepover the month before. Deputies conducted a forensic interview with the girl, who reportedly told them that Jason Drylie, 35, gave her alcohol at the sleepover and sent her text messages encouraging her to drink more. She said that Drylie gave her so many beers she felt "numb and tingly," and that after she went to bed, he texted her that he would bring her more alcohol to the bedroom.
She says that the man came into the bedroom and crawled into bed beside her wearing only his underwear. The girl told investigators that he began to kiss her and touch her inappropriately before she got out of bed and ran to a bathroom, locking the door to get away from him.
The girl showed investigators the text messages on her phone, including one in which the sender apologized for his behavior.
Deputies then questioned Drylie, who they say allowed them to conduct a forensic analysis of his phone. Investigators confronted the suspect with evidence that the texts the girl received came from his phone. According to the Canadian County Sheriff's Office, Drylie confessed to the sexual assault when confronted with the cell phone evidence. They say he admitted to supplying the girl with alcohol, getting into bed with the girl for the purpose of sexual contact, and to illegally kissing and touching her.
Deputies arrested the man on complaints of furnishing alcohol to a minor and lewd acts with a child under 16. He posted $51,000 bond and is no longer in custody.
